Purchased at:A few years ago in Chattanooga, TN
Purchased for:$100 I believe
Nose:Nuts, leather, rye, caramel, oak, char, orange marmelade, nutmeg, burnt brown sugar, and other organo/vegative aromas stuff themselves into you nose. Promises a heap of taste.
Taste:Heavy and thick with sweet creamy buttery corny essence followed by the bite Wild Turkey is famous for. Warms the mouth but holds the rich sweetness in the heat. Mouth wateringly good.
Finish:Long, lingering, evolving............ delicious
Overall:Balanced, complex, assertive........... top notch.

Purchased for:$10000 at least
Info on this bottle:Jimmy Russell, Jimmy Russell, Jimmy Russell
Nose:Deep, rich, subtle sweetness laced with vanilla, maple syrup, leather, nuts, rye, and alcohol that only toys with the nose, never offends it. Incredible complexity and balance. Completely Bourbon, completely American, completely Wild Turkey...........almost heaven in its perfection .............maybe equaled, never surpassed, As a bourbonic template.........an aromatic masterpiece!
Taste:Where does the rich sweetness end and the rye cinnomony spice begin and end? They know each other so well that they are Siamese twins.......never seperated. A balanced duo that respects and admires each other.........sweet (not simple sweetness.....rich deep sweetness)...........and spice (complex with multiple layers........cinnamon, pepper, ginger), that meld into a unique taste experience............just marvelous! There is also the pecan pie, the cinnamon, buttery toast..........you name it.
Finish:Wild Turkey at its primal best
Overall:Words are not enough

Nose:Ah, me lads and lassies, let this lady sit in the glass a few moments and your smeller will tell you that you are in the twlight zone. You will be seduced by her aroma. She has it all, citrus, vanilla, spices, leather, nuts, warming rye, oak, a hint of char, clover, apricots, peaches. In my opinion, the best nose of any bourbon!
Taste:Ah, me lads and lassies, take a sip and your taster will tell you that you are in the twlight zone. A wonderful sweetness of corn, vanilla, brown sugar, spices, fruits of various kinds followed by a bit of peppery rye bite that says 'bourbon' all the way. So smooth, so creamy, so rich!!
Finish:Ah, me lads and lassies, your mouth knows it has entered the twilight zone. Like other WT products, Tribute is viscous and hence has staying power. The sweetness, the spiciness, and the wood with its char are playing your favorite melody, as it has never been played before.
Overall:Ah, me lads and lassies, you have indeed entered the twilight zone, but a beautiful zone it is. Your cares and worries slip away as you marvel at the creative powers of Jimmy Russell. How can this fellow know so much about what makes a great bourbon? It is a gift I say, and he and the other masters of the distiller's art (Julian Van Winkle, Chris Morris, Jim Rutledge, Elmer Lee, and Booker Noe to name the ones I know) are National Treasures to be honored along with our greatest chefs and artists. Theirs is another form of our national genius!

Nose:I have been holding off on a Tribute review until I was a bit more experienced bourbon drinker. Let me begin by taking note of the classy packaging WT came up with. You think you're on to something special when you pick it up. Then the bottle itself just adds to that extraordinary feeling. The color is a deep rich mahogany crying out to be tasted. Now, for the nose. I try to avoid saying anything in bourbondom is the very best, but I have yet to come across a bourbon with a superior nose to Tribute. I pick up the following aromas: wild flowers in bloom, brown sugar, spicy rye, fine leather, honey, vanilla, oak, char, fruits of various sorts, and even cinnamon. It is a lucious nose to be enjoyed for its own sake!
Taste:Tribute tastes exactly like a bourbon should taste. It flows across the mouth with that wonderful essence that bourbon lovers crave. A nice viscous sweetness that is made richer by the cascade of flavors which include the spicy rye, the oak, the char, the vanilla, all tied into a complete package by the alcohol itself.
Finish:The whole Tribute experience, front to back, is exceptional. The finish is long lasting, smooth, balanced, and a delight. Everything exits together so that the whole taste experience fades warmly, prompting you to long for the next sip.
Overall:A superb bourbon that epitomizes what bourbon drinkers have always loved. It has no flaws and speaks volumes about the extraordinary talents of Mr. Jimmy Russell. I can only lament that I have but one unopened bottle left and that there will be no more. Maybe the Austin, Nichols folks have called upon Mr. Russell to bring forth another 'Tribute' in the years to come? If the opportunity comes along for you to taste 'Tribute' don't miss it. This is a true bourbon classic!!

Purchased at:Lexington, KY: Liquor Barn
Purchased for:$80
Info on this bottle:Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon Bottle #4646; aged 15 years and the bottling celebrates Master Distiller Jimmy Russell's 50th Anniversary
Proof Of this Bottle:101
Nose:Without water, it has a great aroma which includes a lot of fruit, along with some oak, leather and a good dose of alchohol. Take your time to enjoy the wonderful aroma. When a number of us initially tried this at the Bourbon Festival, we were all very impressed and intrigued by the aroma. As is typical for me, I really enjoy the aroma even more with a bit of water added. The afore-mentioned aromas continue to come through, but the fruit becomes even more pronounced, with a good dose of cherries and orange.
Taste:The taste is as good as the aroma promises. There's lots of great flavors that include a bit of the barrel char taste mixed nicely with an abundance of the cherry/orange flavors. The sweet flavor is something like honey and the sweetness is very evident on the tip of the tongue. There's also a degree of creaminess to enjoy as well.
Finish:The finish is absolutely delightful. It is sweet, smooth, warming and long. The fruitiness lingers for quite awhile. The finish is sooo good that you'll want to savor it as long as possible, but leaves me lookin forward to the next sip, which I know will be superb!
Overall:What's not to like? This is a fantastic bourbon, and I'd have to say my favorite Wild Turkey product. I just wish it was a bit more affordable, but then again, it's only money. It would be nice to compare this to the version that is going to Japan. It will be bottled in the Kentucky Spirit bottle, and will be 110 proof if I remember correctly. If at all possible, treat yourself to a bottle (or 2) of this superb Bourbon. You'll be glad you did!
